The Broward County Aviation Department which operates the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and North Perry Airport is seeking an Enterprise Assistant Director of Operations. This is highly responsible supervisory and administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Aviation Operations Division. The successful candidate will assist the Director with the administration and direction of operations activities for the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and related facilities. Work involves the responsibility of assisting with directing all activities related to Ground Transportation, Airside, Airport Control Center, terminal operations and airport parking. Work includes overseeing and ensuring the 24-hour operation of the ground transportation plan, terminal/landside operations, administration, including the enforcement of airport rules and regulations, and airside operations, to include compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, policies and procedures.

This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive-level administrators through conferences and reports.

All Aviation Department employees must possess the ability to interact courteously with the public, Airport vendors, contractors, and fellow employees to maintain a professional work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes a positive work environment. 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, management, Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, or a closely related field.


Requires six (6) years of progressive work in operations management (i.e. airside, parking, ground transportation, terminal, and airport control operations) or closely related experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class.

Directs employee issues working with Human Resources and senior management staff; provides guidance and actively participates in the recruitment process.
