As a pivotal member of our team, the Digital Data Records Retention Lead Specialist will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining our digital data records retention strategy. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure we have a robust Enterprise Digital Data Record Management Lifecycle that complies with Legal and Regulatory obligations. We are Data@M&T **FUNCTION:** + Own corporate Digital Data Record Retention Strategy. + Build the corporate Digital Data Record Retention policy, standards, Operating model. Establish a prioritization framework and assist in building an implementation roadmap. + Collect legal interpretation from banking Regulations impacting DDRR working with relevant stakeholders and gather regulatory Data Retention requirements across Compliance, applications, Business Units, privacy etc. **POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to own, develop, and refine the bank's digital data records retention strategy in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. + Assess and classify various data types, determining appropriate retention periods based on legal obligations and business needs. + Design and implement robust procedures and protocols for data retention, and disposal in alignment with the retention strategy. + Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and training to internal stakeholders on data retention best practices and compliance requirements. + Develop and maintain the official repository for all Retention Schedules and any supporting documentation. + Provide consultation and education to Business units and Application owners in the development of their procedures required to meet the provisions of their Retention Schedules. + Develop training materials, documentation and visual cues and provide digital data record retention training and presentations to the cross departmental teams/ stakeholders. + Build Power BI dashboards and KPIs to track progress and compliance with the Digital Data Records Retention policy. + Stay abreast of evolving regulations and industry trends, updating the retention strategy accordingly to maintain compliance. + Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to the retention strategy, identify potential risks, and propose corrective actions. + Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. + Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. + Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. + Complete other related duties as assigned. **NATURE AND SCOPE:** N/A **MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:** Number of Staff: N/A **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:** + Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years related experience + Minimum of 2 years managerial, supervisory, and/or work leadership experience + **Extensive Records Management experience** + Experience in physical data modeling + Experience in one or more database technologies + Expert in Structured Query Language (SQL) + Experience in data analysis + Experience with implementing and measuring Data Quality and Controls **IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:** + Experience developing data quality improvement metrics + Experience with dimensions of DQ rules like completeness, validity, accuracy, timeliness etc. + Experience using data quality and governance tools + Background in Ops, Finance or Tech with Project Management/Business Analysis skills + Experience with ETL/Data integration and Data Warehouse M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $115,703.73 - $192,839.55 Annual (USD).
