Job Title Enterprise Information Systems Functional Lead Agency Texas A&M University - Kingsville Department I Tech Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Kingsville, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Job Summary The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Functional Lead, under direction, provides advanced functional support for the Student Information System. Works with project team members to maintain and support the installed system. Completes reports and summarizes results to management and users in the form of project status reports, problem reports, and progress summaries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Serve as the primary subject matter expert on Ellucian Banner, guiding the university’s functional strategy related to student information systems. + Collaborate with senior leadership, academic units, and administrative departments to ensure that Banner’s configuration and functionality align with institutional goals and evolving business needs. + Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for the SIS that supports continuous improvement, innovation, and long-term planning. + Work with key stakeholders to document and analyze current business processes and identify gaps or areas for improvement within Banner. + Lead workshops and meetings to gather requirements for system enhancements, ensuring that modifications meet user needs while maintaining compliance with institutional policies. + Oversee the configuration, customization, and maintenance of the Banner system to support academic and administrative processes. + Ensure that changes to the system are properly tested and documented, minimizing disruptions to ongoing operations. + Coordinate the integration of Banner with other enterprise systems (e.g., finance, HR, research administration) to ensure seamless data flow and integrity across the institution. + Work closely with IT teams to manage data governance, data quality, and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory standards. + Manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholder communications, ensuring that deliverables meet both technical and business requirements. Additional Responsibilities + Ensure that all modifications and usage of Banner comply with university policies, as well as any external regulatory requirements (e.g., FERPA, GDPR). + Monitor and manage risks associated with system changes, data security, and operational impacts, implementing mitigation strategies as needed. Minimum Requirements Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience – Five years of related experience with business processes. Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Knowledge of higher education student information system business processes and University operations. Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
