Location -Boston, MA

Summary:

Responsible for Architecting, designing and implementing information systems that will support the enterprise infrastructure of clients. Experience with Datacenter assessment tools such as Device42 or Cloudscape, Microsoft MAP, etc. Analyzes system requirements and defines system architecture that will meet business needs, including Azure cloud, hybrid-cloud, server infrastructure, capacity planning, storage requirements, and networking protocols, information security standards and regulatory compliance. Ensures that architecture project roll-outs meet security and architectural standards. Will supervise and guide the work of lower-level architects. Develop datacenter and application migration waves based on application dependency mappings, leveraging Cognizant standardized migration methodologies. Requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to Manager and Program managers. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in solution or project goal terms. Will also provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.

Responsibilities: Responsible for developing and driving Migration wave plans, including Physical to Physical, Virtual to Virtual (Private Cloud, Public Cloud), Physical to Virtual to new modernized Private Cloud, or Hybrid Cloud datacenter builds, migration and operational optimization strategies and processes across all aspects of infrastructure Leveraging Device42 or similar tools collect resource utilization, and Application dependency mappings Develop migration wave groups and migration run books based on Templates Demonstrated experience with VMware, Physical servers, Storage and backup Lead, and build consensus among infrastructure teams, in the design and development of infrastructure building blocks for simplicity, availability, performance, integrity, stability and scalability of global enterprise systems Lead, guide, coach and mentor peers and lower level architects on design standards, implementation strategies and best practices Oversee, Zerto, carbonite, other tool Migration plans Provide expertise and leadership in problem solving, root cause analysis during systems outages, and championing a methodological approach to troubleshooting Engage with management, infrastructure peers, business and project stakeholders to understand system requirements and advise stakeholders on options, risks, business impacts and cost-benefits Communicate with stakeholders at all levels to inform them of architecture strategies and roadmaps Participate in the governance of projects or initiatives to close the gaps between current and future-state architectures Work with the infrastructure engineering teams to evolve and mature corporate/enterprise IT infrastructure Required Qualifications: Exceptional communication skills – able to speak to top executives, business and technical leaders. Able to adapt vocabulary and style for each situation; able to represent complex ideas with effective documents and visuals and to adapt presentations to the expectations and background of the audience Extensive collaboration and stakeholder management skills - able to work effectively with others on common tasks; build rapport, gain support, instill confidence, take actions which respect the needs and contributions of others; find common ground; negotiate win-win solutions; and share credit with others; all while achieving the objectives of both the team and stakeholders Applied working knowledge of datacenter migrations planning, Migration wave group planning Applied knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, methods, and tools Applied hands on experience with Zerto, VMotion, Carbonite Tools, etc. Applied Knowledge of Physical servers, Private Cloud, storage, SAN, backup A knowledge of network and security technologies and regulatory compliance Applied knowledge of virtualization technologies primarily VMware, or VMC, AVS Understanding of database server infrastructure technologies in Azure and on premise Applied knowledge of high availability infrastructure designs and methodologies Applied knowledge of systems monitoring, capacity planning and performance tuning Understanding of application architecture solid understanding of datacenter migrations planning, Migration wave group planning Understanding of one or more public clouds (AWS, GCP or Azure) Education and Certifications: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT to include lead and senior roles Ten years Infrastructure Consulting experience with 1 year AWS or GCP or Azure Cloud Architecture Current technical certifications preferred (CISSP, CBCP, Cisco, Red Hat, VMware, AWS, Microsoft Azure, ) Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, information systems or related discipline or demonstrated 10+ years work experience. The annual salary for this position is between [$99,700] - [$161,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
