Purpose

PerkinElmer is building a global IT organization, and we are looking for an Enterprise IT Architect to help drive the future of our organization.

This is a pivotal role in a growing company. You will be responsible for building out the enterprise architecture function, establishing foundational standards, processes, and governance. Reporting directly to the CIO, you will provide technical leadership and architectural oversight across a dynamic, global landscape—particularly in the context of rapid growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

You will align business strategy with scalable, secure, and integrated technology platforms, with a focus on enabling transformation and harmonization across newly acquired entities.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Function Build-Out
Establish the enterprise architecture practice, including frameworks, governance, documentation standards, and tools.Strategic Alignment
Work with executive stakeholders to translate business goals into enterprise-wide architectural strategies and roadmaps.Technical Leadership
Provide hands-on leadership and direction across IT domains—particularly in SAP-centric environments, cloud platforms, and integration architectures.Architectural Oversight
Review and guide architectural aspects of major initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, scalability, and risk mitigation.M&A Integration
Lead architectural planning and design for the integration of newly acquired companies and technologies, standardizing systems while enabling agility.Governance & Standards
Define and enforce architecture principles, policies, and design patterns to promote consistency, interoperability, and long-term sustainability.Innovation & Roadmapping
Stay ahead of technology trends and propose forward-looking architectural strategies that drive business growth and digital maturity.Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with solution architects, business stakeholders, product teams, and IT operations to ensure cohesive and executable designs.Documentation & Knowledge Management
Create and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts and repositories to ensure transparency, traceability, and reusability.

Basic QualificationsMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in enterprise architecture roles, ideally within global organizations.Strong expertise in SAP-centric environments (e.g., SAP on RISE, S/4HANA) and enterprise application landscapes.Proven experience leading architecture through M&A integrations and IT harmonization efforts.Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and modeling tools (e.g., ArchiMate, Sparx EA).Broad technical knowledge across cloud (Azure/AWS), infrastructure, integration, security, and data architecture.Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, SAP Architecture, Azure/AWS Architect, ITIL) are highly desirable.Fluent in English; proficiency in French and/or Dutch is an asset.
