Purpose
The IT Specialist is responsible for implementing and improving IT systems of JIGPC. His purpose is to analyze system requirements and address any relevant problems of the systems. Likewise, perform standard testing and provide solutions to ensure high levels of performance and security.
To provide hands-on oversight, configuration, and troubleshooting support for plant & office Information Technology (IT) Systems in support of a plant industrial complex and associated product storage & delivery systems operated by JIGPC in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.
Nature & Scope
Information Technology Systems & equipment are an essential part of plant operations. As a member of the site technical team, the IT Specialist’s scope of work includes provision of hands-on technical support and oversee the activities of local IT contractors for all of the site’s network infrastructure activities, systems, and equipment including: Network System Hardware, Servers and IT Room, Telephone Systems, Personal Computers, and Mobile Phone equipment & services.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety
Provide & maintain a safe work environment for self & others. Employ good housekeeping methods and demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to prevent injuries.Technical:
Participate in the development of documentation outlining Operational tooling processes and offerings.Manage the Base monitoring process and attestation processes.Develop a capacity management process of all monitoring tool infrastructure.Develop solution designs and costing for business and IT initiatives and is responsible for defining the functional and infrastructure designs of these solutions.Provision backup infrastructure solution.Develop and maintain thorough documentation on TSM processes.Represent the Storage Engineering team on various infrastructure and application projects and meetings.Ensure Request/Incident/Change/Problem management policies are defined and adhered to.Develop an expert understanding of the monitoring capabilities of the tools owned by our team and their interaction points.Maintain an intermediate knowledge of Sharepoint to leverage it as an access point for internal and external groups to understand Engagement offerings and status.Install and configure hardware and software systems.Plan, configure, install and support CPUs, along with the surrounding peripherals and connectivity infrastructure.Identify new tooling requirements or tool exploitation solutions based on newer technologies being looked at.Working with the Systems Strategy folks and coordinating with the Domain SME’s.Accountable for reporting of Request/Incident/Change management in their domain.Managing site licenses for department/organization.Manage IT ticketing system.Troubleshoots networks, systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties and design preventive solutions.Assist SQL manager with management and oversight of daily scheduled tasks.Provides computer orientation and training new and existing company staff.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, mathematics, or engineering8-year experience in IT or database administration in an industrial plant is a plusPreferred: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), preferred is Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)Preferred: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)Broad knowledge of the infrastructure tools, equipment, and services used throughout the site (Networks, Servers, PCs, Printing, Security and Voice).Demonstrated knowledge of ITIL practices & applicable standards.Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server setup and administration.Working knowledge in assisting users in a support capacity in all issues with active kit (laptops, printers, projectors, plotters, phones) etc.Demonstrated self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilities.Demonstrated ability to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds; must be detail-oriented and highly organized; and must be able to produce reliable, accurate, and timely results while maintaining a customer-service attitude.Proficiency in English speaking and writing.Good interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively throughout all levels within the organization.Must be able to follow logical processes in problem solving, using existing knowledge systems and service area resources to provide an effective solution.Must be able to manage own workload, in accordance with departmental priorities.Working knowledge of Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AccessWe are the world’s largest hydrogen producer with over 80 years of industrial gas experience.
