Job Description

Role Purpose:

The Solution Engineer provides pre-sales services to both internal and external customers focusing on the implementation of Plex offerings. The primary focus of the position is to support the Plex Sales Team in working with our Customers on their Digital Transformation with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM).

Reporting to the Manager of Solution Engineering, in this position you will provide pre-sales support (Technical, Operational, and Value oriented) to the Plex Sales force and ensure a consistent and efficient handover to our delivery organization and by that help drive these engagements to a successful closure.

We are looking for experience responding to prospect emails, phone calls, and demo requests and the ability to interact and across all levels of the company. Also, commercial, product/service/solution and application skills are necessary. We ask that you have moderate to extensive travel within region but could include opportunities in our other global regions.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to RFIs and RFQsWork with Plex sales representatives on sales strategies, plans and executionPresent qualitative and quantitative value of the proposed solutionsConfigure MES demonstrations, create custom presentations and documents that state customer business problems and Plex solutions and benefitsProvide guidance to customers and implementers on ways to deploy proposed products including alternatives and their costs and benefitsWork with deployment teams (internal or partners) on deployment strategies and proposalsPrepare technical materials, presentations, and tools to improve sales force effectivenessEvaluate products and provide feedback on product features and performanceUnderstand and challenge the customer's needs, analyze the gaps and propose solutions.Prepare and execute MES demonstration of our systems.Normally receive little instruction on daily work and Is a knowledge workerCommunicate and sell the value of Plex solutions focused on the manufacturing Supply Chain.Develop and perform technical software demonstrations specific to customer needs and concerns.Perform solution discovery tasks to understand a prospect's business and their main business concerns.Assist the sales executive in relationship management, technical sales and sales tool development.Support the sales process and address objections.

Skills, Experience and Education

Bachelor or Master's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other Business or Technical FieldExperience with industry specific applications, manufacturing principles and how to apply them.Expertise in at least one of the following industries: Food and Beverage, General Manufacturing, Automotive.Knowledge in one or more manufacturing applications such as:MES, MOM, ERP, QMSKnowledge in Manufacturing Operations with core tools such as:MRP, Production Scheduling, Quality Management Systems, Inventory Control, Industrial Automation5+ years' experience in Manufacturing disciplines including Quality and Lean Principles, Production Scheduling, Inventory Control, and Production Reporting.5+ years' experience in Manufacturing environment.Experience balancing multiple sales opportunities projects and responsibilities.Ability to interact positively with clients and internal departments.A presence, and Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects.Experience constructing/preparing presentation to address manufacturing company's needs.Experience with Enterprise SaaS applications.Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
