Entertainment Associate - Activities and Events

The Activities & Events Associate is responsible for the project management, creation, maintenance and optimization of the standard operating procedures for shipboard entertainment events, activities, and Entertainment executional processes (i.e. debarkation, itinerary changes, etc.) appropriately called Recipes For Fun (RFF).  This position contributes to the operation of current Entertainment Experience products such as karaoke, trivia, games, holidays, and special events supporting the existing events and creating executional best practices.  Assist in the development and strategy in enhancing existing shipboard Entertainment experiences.

Essential Functions:

Manage the Recipe for Fun (RFF) library (standard operating procedure documents) for all Entertainment events, activities, and operations to provide shipboard executional direction and support fleet wide consistency. Collaborate with VPs and entertainment team members in creating new RFFS. Update and revise current RFFs. Maintain calendar of holidays and celebrations. Lead the maintenance and optimization of Carnival’s current Entertainment standard programming such as games, parties, arts and crafts, etc. Order supplies needed for the daily onboard events and activities. Coordinate the delivery of updated supplies and reference materials to the shipboard teams. Oversee the collection of feedback for activities, holidays, and special events to assist the managers in incorporating strategic changes to improve the effectiveness of Carnival’s Entertainment Experience programs. Makes recommendations for improvements to product delivery based off of guest and shipboard feedback, budget costs, and overall efficiency. Consult with the Manager of Entertainment Experience - Programming & Operations on the implementation and logistics of new events and activities.  Liaise with other shoreside and shipboard departments (Bar, Culinary, Marketing, etc.) to ensure all events and activities are properly planned and executed. Partner with the Creative Team to brainstorm ideas, ensure all logos, and necessary collateral are prepared for events. Provide administrative support to MEEs as needed for shipboard Entertainment team member travel, training, operational, and new hire onboarding tasks. Assist MEE in conducting ship audit visits as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Entertainment, Recreation, Hospitality, Tourism 3+ years of experience in the entertainment industry.  Experience developing and executing large scale project rollouts.  Cruise line experience and writing/editing experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Organization skills; ability to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines.  Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Knowledge of Carnival’s entertainment program and operations. Excellent written communication and presentation skills. Ability to explain concepts and ideas efficiently and effectively. Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time.

Travel: Less than 25% ship and shore-based travel

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

The range for this role’s base salary is $21.05 - $30.67 per hour.  Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
