Investigators use a variety of different stem, organoid, and animal experimental models, including Drosophila, zebrafish, and mice. The Dempsey lab is looking for a motivated PRA candidate to join our highly collaborative team as we work to understand the role of intestinal stem cells in normal homeostasis and epigenetic mechanisms of cellular plasticity in injury and regeneration. We employ an integrated molecular approach using sophisticated fluorescent reporter mouse models, mouse and human organoid in vitro systems, and phototunable hydrogels to interrogate different aspects of intestinal stem cell biology.
