**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for an **Entry Level** **Baseband Hardware Engineer** in our **Hughes Network Systems** division. This position would be located in our **San Diego, CA** office. **Responsibilities:** + Design and develop innovative technical hardware solutions for satellite and terrestrial IP-based communications systems in the areas such as digital high-speed PWB board design involving state of the art electronics circuit, high speed FPGA board design, switching power supply circuit for portable and fixed satellite terminals. + Propose and implement hardware design based on product requirements. + Involve selection and lab testing of components for product. Evaluate components using high speed oscilloscope, logic analyzer, function generator etc. + Perform schematic capture, high speed signal integrity and power integrity analysis using CAD design software. + Participate in high density printed circuit board layout and design review. + Design verification testing of prototypes, composing test documentation and product failure analysis. + Design satellite modem functions inside FPGA using Verilog HDL language. Perform verification using Cadence simulation tool and FPGA vendor synthesis tool **Basic Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline + Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and function generator. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Effective oral and written communication. The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
