Qualified candidates will be well-rounded, organized problem solvers with excellent communication skills and an interest in solving technical challenges. **Job Responsibilities:** + Assist with the development of various civil/environmental engineering designs and deliverables such as site plans, erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, and investigation reports + Participate in civil and environmental field investigations and permitting + Assist with the preparation of civil and environmental engineering calculations + Create plans and figures using AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS + Assist with the development of civil/environmental engineering recommendations, prepare plans and specifications, and write technical deliverables + Assist with the development of regulatory permitting documents in support of civil/environmental projects + Work within the civil and environmental engineering groups and across other Schnabel business units and offices to effectively balance workload among available resources + Perform field work as necessary to meet client needs and expectations, including drilling, instrumentation and monitoring, and site inspections **Required Skills/Experience:** + Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program + 0 to 4 years of professional experience in consulting civil/environmental engineering + Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to receive EIT certification within 1-year + AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or GIS skills suitable for developing required deliverables + Proficiency with Office 365, and other productivity software + Excellent oral and written communication skills + Positive attitude and safety minded individual + Ability to multi-task and meet client deadlines + Strong work ethic and a desire for continual self-improvement + Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment + Confidence and independence, with a shared sense of responsibility and ownership in work products + Effective time management and interpersonal skills **Desired Skills/Experience:** + Demonstrated interest and experience with civil design and environmental permitting for site design and development, including Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management **Other Requirements:** + Ability to lift 60 pounds and be physically able to navigate construction sites, safely enter work areas, traverse steep slopes and uneven terrain, and work in the outside elements when required + Ability to perform field work and travel as needed for projects + Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check + Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening The compensation range for this position is between $57,500 to $86,250. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors.
