Start your new career as an Entry-level CNC Operator with MAU at General Electric in Greenville, SC. As an Entry-level CNC Operator, you will set up and operate various machining equipment on gas turbine materials, assemble and disassemble parts, conduct quality checks, finish parts, participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives, and collaborate with the team on related tasks.
What We Offer: $23.00 per hour, $1 shift differential on Second or Third shifts Multiple shifts available Great hours; 8-hour shifts Monday to Friday Health Benefits 401K Reward Programs What We’re Looking For: Experience in disassembling parts as needed to prepare for machining and related processes Graduate of a recognized machinist or toolmaker program (e.g., technical school, industrial training, or armed forces program) At least 6 months of general machine shop experience in the setup and operation of various machines (manual, conventional, and CNC), including but not limited to Blanchard and Chevalier surface grinders Blade tip grinder Tool room lathe OD dowel grinder Pipe shop drill press Lamina mobile drilling Accuscan runout table Spin pits Flat balance Shot peening Haas CNC machines Current, sinker, wire, and oil EDMs Must successfully pass an assessment that evaluates the following abilities: Reading and interpreting blueprints Using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and calipers Performing shop math calculations Answering questions related to machining operations (manual, conventional, and CNC) Ability to work overtime What You’ll Do as an Entry-level CNC Operator Execute medium complexity machining layout operations Set up and operate a range of machines (manual, conventional, and CNC) to perform diverse machining operations on gas turbine materials, parts, and assemblies, utilizing equipment and tools of various sizes and complexities Assemble and disassemble parts as necessary for machining processes Utilize a variety of measuring tools, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), to conduct quality checks Deburr and blend finished parts to ensure a smooth and precise finish Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on Lean practices, safety, quality, and productivity enhancements Collaborate effectively as part of a team and undertake additional related duties as assigned
