This position is expected to be a field assignment. This will include susbtantial travel for extended periods of time. The location of the assignment can vary depending on the job and/or client. We do offer per diem for those that qualify.

 

Position Overview:

The Construction Associate will work closely with all project team members and closely support the oversight of all contractor and sub-contractor trade employees. Our Construction Associates must be highly organized, communicate effectively, work well with a team, and help ensure timely completion of projects in fast-paced environments.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Support develop of project-specific construction management and/or commissioning management work plansPerform home office or remote pre-construction planning work before field mobilizationSupport the site construction management and commissioning staffMonitor overall construction and commissioning progress, cost, quality, scope, and safetyManage and mitigate construction and commissioning work riskReport construction progress and cost to the Project Manager or OwnerAttend construction project performance review meetingsPlan construction process by developing schedules, phasing, and lookaheadsKeep track of project progress and maintain schedulesEnsure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderlyCommunicate any field conflicts and notify the internal project teamKeep all documentation up to date for internal and external project membersCollaborate with the internal construction team, engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needsMonitor and report on project progressAdhere to estimated costs and ensure the project is on budget (and is profitable) Support the supervision of field staff and provide constructive feedbackCoordinate requests for appropriate staffingResolve on-site issues and emergenciesEnsure compliance with safety, health, and quality standards Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

Industrial Field Experience, Trade School Graduate, or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferredSome experience involving industrial construction management (Internship or similiar)General understanding of construction labor knowledge and labor planning experienceUnderstanding how to establish and effectively use project controls tools to manage a large construction projectStrong verbal and written communication skillsGood interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others in potentially adversarial situationsProficiency in MS Office SuiteOrganizational and time-management skillsAbility to lead and inspire
