Who You Are:
Versar has a unique opportunity for self-motivated security professionals, able to work independently to meet deadlines and response times, and in support of important missions within the Federal Government. Versar requires highly skilled, full-time, professional Electronic Security System (ESS) Technicians for the accomplishment of complex electronic security system preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.
This position requires technical support for and installation of electronic security systems thereby protecting sensitive work-related activities, information, documentation, equipment, visitors, and Agency personnel in controlled areas such as federal courthouses and office spaces (probation offices, public defender spaces, etc.).
What You’ll Do:
The ideal candidate will provide installation of Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Closed-Circuit Video (CCV) systems in addition to the integration of these systems to monitor the physical plant, people, and contents efficiently and effectively.
Performing work, under supervision, to include Pulling cable, terminating field devices, mounting security field devices and panels.Assisting with system testing and signal verification.Use ladders to safely access ceiling crawl spaces and attics, pulling wires, hooking up routes, etc.Cleans up installation debris and maintains an orderly workspaceAssist with teammate with troubleshooting as needed. Meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.Maintain a high level of professionalism, in appearance and communication with the public and federal/local community membersPerform other duties as requiredWhat You’ll Bring:
18+ years of ageHigh School Diploma or equivalent1+ years of directly relevant experience working with hand tools and power tools. **This position is based in the Germantown, MD/DC Metro area with additional work performed nationwide with up to 75% travel. Overnights may extend up to 4 weeks at a time, and accommodations are provided by the company.
Compensation
Expected Salary: $25/hr - $30/hr
