Role description:
As part of our Resilience Water team, you’ll help improve quality of life. With your expertise in environmental science your work could involve Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) project support in different areas, and a range of remediation and/or sampling and/or monitoring activities as directed and in accordance with relevant Health and Safety or other operational standards.
Role Accountabilities:
In this role, your responsibilities will involve actively assisting in data collection, analysis, and related tasks while acting as a project resource to support the successful delivery of specific outputs, either individually or as part of a team. Responsibilities include identifying information sources and gathering relevant data to aid project delivery, analyzing data, and performing data modeling to design solutions that meet project objectives. The role also requires preparing drawings, specifications, reports, and other project documentation that align with company and client requirements while complying with national standards and codes of practice. These activities include compiling, manipulating, and evaluating data and documentation control for the AMI project, and any other related support to the Project Manager.
Additionally, the role emphasizes developing and maintaining technical knowledge, such as understanding national regulations, regulatory guidance, national standards, codes of practice, and Arcadis’ procedures, as well as staying informed about new and emerging technical research to ensure ongoing personal effectiveness. There is also a focus on developing an understanding of Arcadis services, the client’s business, and the broader industry sector to facilitate personal networking and build individual credibility within the industry. If necessary, you will provide support for conducting soil, groundwater, and air sampling in compliance with both State and Federal standards, as well as Arcadis’ quality and safety practices.

The candidate should manage, reduce, and evaluate field and analytical data, prepare reports, and assist Project Manager (PM) with AMI tasks. It is expected that the candidate exhibiting ownership of delegated tasks, ensuring the coordination and delivery of on-schedule and on-budget work. The candidate should possess a logical approach and the ability to work in simultaneous tasks. Responsibilities include operating software packages like ArcGIS and Microsoft Office, compiling and evaluating data with a focus on QA/QC, and preparing reports and permit applications. Other tasks involve soil, groundwater, and environmental media sampling in compliance with State and Federal standards, implementing injection or other in-situ remedial technologies, and overseeing remediation activities, system installations, and remedial construction.
The role also entails managing data (including compilation, manipulation, and evaluation), and assisting with preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda. A strong focus on health and safety is essential, with compliance to Arcadis and client H&S requirements being a priority. The candidate must exhibit independent thinking skills, work successfully with minimal supervision, and collect and interpret field data, including maintaining detailed, legible field notes.
Additional responsibilities include preparing visual, graphical, and tabular data summaries. The role involves managing desktop environmental assessments using ArcGIS and other methods to address permitting requirements, conducting field reviews and site visits with technical specialists, engineers, and construction personnel, and supporting environmental remediation design tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters of science degree in environmental science or a related field of study. 2+ years of experience Technical expertise in the environmental aspects and a comprehensive understanding of the local municipalities in PR. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $52,000 - $78,000 / per year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
