ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is looking for a talented Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our team and support projects throughout Vermont.

 

Please note: our office will be relocating from South Burlington to Winooski in April 2025.

 

Responsibilities

Field data collection (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil gas sampling) to support site assessmentsObserve and document construction and remediation activities for compliance with approved plansObserve and document drilling activities (soil borings and monitoring well installation)Leveraging technology to support data management and visualization Assist with writing technical reports, correspondence, notes and memoranda

Skills and Attributes

Ability to work in field and office settingsExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including directing and managing subcontractors Motivated, with strong ability to problem solve and work independentlyArcGIS experience/coursework preferred but not required.

Qualifications

0-1 years of environmental consulting experience required1-3 years of environmental consulting experience preferredBachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field Valid driver’s licenseAbility to travel to a location, walk/hike and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, and ability to carry equipment and suppliesOSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required after 30 days of employment (cost covered by VHB)
