Role description:
Arcadis is currently seeking an entry-level Geologist to provide support on environmental remediation projects. This position will be based in Milwaukee, WI and will require local and regional travel.
As part of our Resilience Environment team, you’ll help improve quality of life.
Role accountabilities:
This position encompasses predominantly field work, with a smaller amount of office work (task management, data analysis, report preparation, scope preparation, and client communications). Estimated field/travel is up to 75% field and 25% office.
Responsibilities will include a combination of field and office related tasks including:
Oversight of subcontractor drilling operations Soil or rock core logging during drilling Soil, groundwater, and air sampling in compliance with State and Federal standards Implementation of injection or other in-situ based remedial technologies Oversight of remedial system installations Aquifer testing In collaboration with senior scientists, evaluate data to support conceptual site models for environmental investigations, delineate the nature and extent of contamination, and modify and optimize post-remedy long-term-monitoring programs Assist with writing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda Coordinating work schedules with subcontractors, including obtaining subcontractor quotes Health and safety stewardship and following safety procedures Work effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholdersWhile this position requires both field and office work, the candidate can expect to spend up to 75% of their time in the field. The position will require periodic extended (up to 6 week rotation) travel within the U.S. up to 20% of the time, and regional travel up to 75% of the time. Field work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes. Field work is performed in all weather, including inclement conditions (i.e., rain, snow, etc.)

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $52,000- $78,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
