Actively seeking several entry level GIS Technicians to support joint use/make ready project work in the power utility industry. Successful technicians will work on projects throughout the market. This role will be working out in the field working in residential and commercial areas throughout the area. The goal of this project work is to help upgrade their infrastructure system and project documentation through Joint Use and GIS platforms.
Over the past several years, there has been a drastic increase in the number of companies requesting to attach to pole lines in both rural and metropolitan areas. Part of this is due to cable television and telecommunication companies installing fiber optic cable to meet business needs.
· Technicians will support major projects for the utility industry and will utilize ArcGIS for GIS work
· Technicians will be responsible for closing out GIS work orders.
· Each project will include preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and ROW (right of way) acquisition, development of BOM (bill of materials), estimating costs, pole inspections, and power line measurements, etc.
· Will be viewing as built to make sure that the data matches what is shown in the GIS system
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in GIS or Environmental related degree 0-1 years experience Experience working with ArcGIS, ArcMapPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
