ABOUT THE POSITION
Come join one of the top ranked design firms in the country! VHB’s growing headquarters in Watertown, MA is seeking an Entry-level Landscape Designer/Architect to join our Planning + Design practice. Project types include both public and private sector clients in the New England area. Our office is within minutes of downtown Boston and less than an hour to Cape Cod, Providence, RI and New Hampshire offering outstanding cultural and outdoor recreational opportunities for the interested professional.
Candidates will be asked to present their portfolio.
Responsibilities
Work with multi-disciplinary project teams, assist in developing site design from concept through constructionPrepare graphics, by hand and by computer, for design development, presentations and public process materials, including: sketch-up models, concept plans and diagrams, design studies, illustrative plans, cross sections and perspective sketchesAssist in producing construction documents: Develop layout and material, grading, planting plans, technical details, and write technical specificationsAssist in preparing estimates of probable construction costsConduct construction site visits and plant taggingSkills & Abilities
Proficiency in working with AutoCAD (LandFX is preferred), Sketch-up, Photoshop, InDesign, LumionPro and PowerPoint/Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate strong graphic skills and ability to organize and present ideasAbility to handle assignments from multiple project managersPublic speaking skillsRequirements
BS in Landscape Architecture0-1 years of directly related professional landscape architecture experience from design through construction preferred Familiarity with New England climate and regional plant species is preferredFamiliarity with sustainable design practices desiredMust be able to provide a portfolio of work at time of applicationApplicants must be legally authorized to work for VHB in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
