This is an entry-level design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Mechanical Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement. 

Participate in mechanical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design teamResponsible for production of engineering calculations / analyses, design drawings and engineering reportsApply mechanical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of machine elements and pressure vessels, supporting structural elements, and auxiliary systems and componentsProduce Procurement Specifications and Fabrication / Construction Specifications (Mechanical sections) Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.

 

Essential skills and experience: 

BSME degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited programMust be able to obtain US Government security clearance

Valued but not required skills and experience:

Coursework or work experience in the design of machines and / or related elements, pressure vessels or other specialty equipment (e.g., gloveboxes, fume hoods, etc.) is desirableExperience with producing engineering designs for piping, HVAC, or radioactive material handling systems is also a plusField Engineering and Construction Experience is a plusFamiliarity with computational engineering analysis software such as ANSYS, AFT Fathom, Arrow, Impulse, or equivalent is desirable

Sargent & Lundy’s Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering design and consulting support to the management and operating contractors for US Department of Energy (DOE) sites and national laboratories.
