Join us as a Microbiologist, where you’ll put your love of science to work in the Scientific Insourcing Services department. You’ll receive all the training you need to successfully take on your new role and grow an exciting laboratory sciences career at Pace®.
This position will actively support food safety and quality assurance through the use, and validation of pathogen detection products. The analyst will prepare and evaluate samples using aseptic technique to ensure products meet specifications. The products being monitored are crucial to maintaining consumer safe food supply chains. Work is performed as part of a team in a collaborative environment. Position may require occasional weekend shifts.
What you’ll do
Conduct Analysis of products using traditional microbiological techniques such as dilution, pour plating, and filtration
Perform a wide range of general molecular/microbiology related test methods such as sterility testing, plate counting, and pathogen identification
Prepare sterile lab media used to conduct testing
Perform Petrifilm product testing and use compendial methods and standard protocols Maintain bacterial cultures for inclusive and exclusive testing Take pH measurements and calibration as needed General laboratory upkeep and supplies maintenanceWhat you’ll bring
B.S. in Microbiology, biochemistry, biology, or related science Some experience with microbiology lab techniques such as pipetting, preparing media, pouring agar, streak plating, etc. Strong attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Able to handle multiple projects concurrently, self-motivated, and results driven Able to communicate effectively#LI-RG1
