The purpose of this job: 

Perform a limited range of basic duties to handle, assemble, process and package product.

 

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a High School Diploma or GED Self-managed teams and we are looking for individuals that possess a strong work ethic and substantial interpersonal and team participation skills

 

Hours of work/work schedule:

Overtime is required in many cases. Our new employees will go through a 90 day probationary period. Production and Maintenance employees are represented by USW Local 1029. Candidates must be available to work in 24/7 facility that provides the following shifts: 7am - 7pm and 7pm - 7am, weekends and holidays.

 

Major Responsibilities/Ongoing Tasks:

Orients lightweight plastic parts on conveyor belts and removes items from belts as needed Adds ink for printers Transfers certain products in and out of treatment units Loads and unloads certain products for printing operations Performs simple visual observation for gross defects while handling ware Counts and stacks items as needed Places plastic bag over counted and stacked items Places open end of filled bags into heat sealer and activates heat sealer to seal bags Puts sealed product into bins for transportation by automated guided vehicles (AGV) Changes lot numbers on heat sealer Completes simple hand assembly and packaging for bench work based on clear instructions Performs light material handling tasks – i.e.: stocks workstation with small quantities of supplies, stocks small quantities of caps (placing into cap hoppers) at machines using scoops, dumps regrind buckets or other small containers at the machines, etc. Handles lightweight ware-in-process (WIP) items Completes clearly specified operation and adjustment of equipment Clear minor equipment jams as necessary Performs equipment wash downs using alcohol and chlorine bleach Creates/makes shippers for related WIP products only (i.e. OEM) Follows all clean room manufacturing procedures and regulations Completes simple paperwork and records specified information Collects Q. C. samples Alert appropriate person when machine or equipment is not operating normally Follows clear instructions such as assembly sheets. Exerts effort equivalent to handling less than 15 pounds throughout the shift. Limited work may require greater effort. Cleans machines and production area as necessary and may assist in routine equipment maintenance, equipment set‑up and removal, or job changes Transfers alcohol from flammable storage to and from production. Maintains good housekeeping standards, follows all safety regulations and practices, Quality system standards, and complies with all Clean room Regulations.  Performs all duties and functions required to finish product, including assembling, packaging, inspecting, recording and documentation, training, planning/scheduling, and operation of machinery along with team tasks while meeting FDA/GMP/ISO regulations. Assumes other responsibilities and performs miscellaneous duties to support department and plant operations. Maintains good housekeeping conditions in plant, complies with all pertinent safety expectations, and observes safe work practices. Once certified will train others within that group.

The starting pay for this position is ​$20.02 hourly rate.  Compensation and benefits available for this position are dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
