ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s South Portland, Maine office is looking for a talented Transportation Planner to join us! This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.

 

Responsibilities

Assist in development of transportation planning studies for a multitude of transportation projectsAssist with development of support materials for public involvement activitiesSupport with authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies and demographic analysesPrepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reportsConduct planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize resultsPerform field data collection and other on-site project support activitiesAssist in safety studies

Skills and Attributes

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially experience with Word.Attention to detailAbility to independently perform multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with coworkersTeam oriented with strong capability to work independently.

Qualifications

0-1 years of related professional experienceBachelor’s degree in planning, civil engineering, or related fieldExperience with Esri ArcGIS Desktop software, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online a plusExperience in Shapefile (SHP) and File GeoDatabase (DBF) file formats a plus
