This position is in the Power Delivery Northeast Civil/Structural Substation Department, with offices in the following locations: Freeport and Augusta, Maine; Foxborough, Massachusetts; Syracuse, New York, Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Columbus, Ohio. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of one of the offices). **Roles and Responsibilities** + All aspects of substation civil design including permitting support, site design, foundation design, structure design, and control building design + Development of civil construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals and project schedules + Support of substation physical design with bus analysis calculations and coordinating with multiple disciplines on results + Preparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and code requirements + Understand and incorporate typical structural code requirements + Coordination with all disciplines contributing to electrical substation design + Preparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and code requirements + Occasional travel will be required **Required Education/Experience** + BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering) degree from an accredited college + Ability to perform basic civil engineering tasks + Ability to independently create calculation packages + Mechanical reasoning skills and attention to detail + Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam, or the ability to complete the FE exam within one year + A strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel + Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship **Desired Education/Experience** + Three (3) or more years of civil design experience + Experience in electric utility substation design (15kV through 500kV) is a plus + Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, RISA, MatchCAD, LPile, and Civil 3D are beneficial + Geotechnical background is a plus + Professional Engineering license (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure and ability to obtain licensure in multiple states + Ability to successfully participate in multiple projects concurrently and manager budgets and schedules POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is a global consulting environmental and engineering firm and one of the top design firms in the energy sector.
