POWER Engineers is currently seeking an Entry-Level Substation Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Oahu, Honolulu office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (candidate will need to live within a commutable distance of the office).
ResponsibilitiesThe position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical and civil layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams.The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; being responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience.Required Education/ExperienceAssociates/technical degree in an accredited drafting program, or sufficient industry experienceAutoCAD and/or MicroStation experienceStrong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team membersLegally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorshipDesired Education/ExperienceDrafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environmentExperience with a 3D CAD systemKnowledge of substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and/or substation physical/civil drawingsExperience working with scaled drawingsWorking knowledge of survey coordinate systems a plusExperience with Microsoft Word and ExcelExperience with ProjectWise File Management SystemsReliable, detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasksAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level. Base Salary Range: $50K - $70K
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job related knowledge, skills, experience and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
