Be involved in projects with our Power Delivery Substation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges. **Your Impact** + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. + Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. + The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions. + The Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department to produce a product consistent with POWER's mission statement and our culture. They are expected to support the department in achieving the goals of the department, maintain POWER's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork and meet the needs of our clients. + Shall learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs. + Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients. + Perform the detailed design of low to extra high voltage substations including, but not limited to: + One-line diagrams + Schematics + Wiring diagrams + Communications + Station physical layouts + Sections/Elevations + Cable and conduit plans and details + Ground grid design and details + Foundation plans and details + Structural plans and details + Control enclosure design and details + Lightning protection plans + Yard lighting plans + Bills of Materials + Site visits **Who You Are** **Required Qualifications** • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. • BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option • Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build on • 0-1 years of experience • Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel • Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. **Preferred Qualifications** • 3+ months of relevant electrical engineering work experience; could be on an internship or co-op basis • Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) • Knowledge of electrical utility substations and familiarity with substation design • Engineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam **Disclaimer:** • Relocation assistance is not available for this position. **WSP Benefits:** WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
