POWER Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Minneapolis office located in Burnsville, Minnesota. This is an in-office position, but flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within commutable distance of the office).
ResponsibilitiesThe Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department to produce a product consistent with POWER's mission statement and our culture. They are expected to support the department in achieving its goals of the department, maintain POWER's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork, and meet the needs of our clients.
Perform the detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations including, but not limited to:One-line diagramsSchematicsWiring diagramsSCADACommunicationsStation physical layoutsSections/ElevationsCable and conduit plans and detailsGround grid design and detailsFoundation plans and detailsStructural plans and detailsControl enclosure design and detailsLightning protection plansYard lighting plansBills of MaterialsSite visits Support QA/QC for deliverables to clientsShall learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designsOccasional travelRequired Education/ExperienceBSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power optionStrong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build onCandidates should enjoy living in the Burnsville area, or have a desire and ability to relocate there with minimal assistanceStrong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelLegally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorshipDesired Education/ExperienceAt least three months of relevant electrical engineering work experience; could be on an internship or co-op basisMinimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)Knowledge of electrical utility substations and familiarity with substation designEngineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level. Base Salary Range: $75K - $90K
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job related knowledge, skills, experience and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
