ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Boston, MA office is looking for an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Planning & Operations group. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public, private and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including municipal, state agencies, higher education, federal land and aviation.

 

Responsibilities

Working within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projectsTraffic impact studiesSafety studiesTransportation planning analysesResearch and interpret transportation data, community statistics and demographicsPrepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reportsTraffic data collection and tabulationIntersection and roadway level of service analysesDevelopment, analysis and evaluation of traffic improvementsRoadway and intersection conceptual design

Skills and Attributes

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsSelf-motivatedAttention to detailAbility to think criticallyStrong computer skillsExcel in working in a team environment

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering 0-1 years of professional transportation engineering experienceEIT preferredExperience with AutoCAD a plusExperience with Synchro, Vissim, and/or HCS a plusExperience with ArcGIS a plus

Applicants must be legally authorized to work for VHB in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

 

Hiring Salary Range - $75,000 - 81,000. However, the final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, and experience.
