ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join us. This position can be based out of our offices in Wethersfield, CT; Providence, RI; or Worcester, MA.

 

Responsibilities

Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation design and solutions for a multitude of transportation and highway-related projectsSupport traffic-safety studies, road safety assessments, and transportation planning documentationResearch, collect, tabulate, and interpret traffic and safety dataPrepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reportsDevelop preliminary and final design plans Develop engineer’s construction cost estimatesContract documents, including specifications Document and communicate findings from field observations and data collection

Skills and Attributes

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Comfortable working independently as well as on a team Ability to work in an office or virtual environmentDetail oriented, self-motivated, and committedStrong computer skillsCritical thinking and problem solving

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering 0-1 year of professional transportation engineering experience1-3 years of professional transportation engineering experience preferredEngineer in Training certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months, preferredMicroStation, AutoCAD / Civil3D, InRoads, HyrdroCAD experience a plus
