Job Description:

In the summer of 2021, Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the US through the acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project developer.  This transaction was Repsol's first foray into the U.S. renewables market. In 2024, Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables Services North America (“RRSNA”) is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027.

RRSNA is hiring an environmental intern to assist in the Environmental Affairs and Permitting department supporting renewable energy project development and permitting efforts, and other responsibilities as defined. This role will report directly to the Director in the Environmental Affairs and Permitting department.

This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 19, 2025 – August 8, 2025, in Downtown Houston.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform science, policy, legal or technology research.Conduct analyses and findings comparisons of various studies and local, state and federal regulations.Create materials that support project development and permitting efforts, including memoranda, letters, presentations, and talking pointsManage and track technical document reviews and responses to questions.Assist the Environmental Affairs and Permitting Team with maintaining relevant databases and data organization.Support corporate environmental stewardship policies and goals.Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

Detail orientedSelf-motivatedStrong written and oral communication skillsPassionate about the environmentCurrently pursuing a degree in environmental science, natural or cultural resources, biology or another science-based fieldPreferably a rising Junior or Senior
