You will play a pivotal role in steering environmental compliance corporate sustainability initiatives at our site in Swindon, UK. As part of our One Connected World strategy, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive environmental and sustainability program to have the site achieve its sustainability targets and comply with all environmental regulations. This strategic role not only aids in fulfilling our targets but also contributes to improving operational efficiencies and an improved public image. You will report to the site EH&S Manager but will work collaboratively with multiple departments onsite and indirectly report to the AD&M Sustainability Manager on sustainability progress for the site.
Your responsibilities:Environmental Compliance
• Generate, develop, and maintain the environmental management system for the site, specifically in alignment with ISO 14001
• Ensure the site is compliant with all local environmental regulations and environmental permit requirements for all site operations
Sustainability Management
• Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies in line with TE’s sustainability goals.
• Evaluating the site’s current environmental footprint by analyzing energy consumption, waste generation, water usage, and supply chain impacts in align with TE’s sustainability goals
• Tracking progress towards sustainability goals by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and generating regular reports for stakeholders.
• Overseeing the development and execution of sustainability projects such as energy efficiency upgrades, waste reduction initiatives, and water efficiency improvements
• Manage reporting on sustainability initiatives and performance metrics for the site
• Lead training and development sessions for staff on sustainability practices and policies
• Oversee sustainability projects from conception to execution, ensuring they meet budget and time constraints.
• Engage with onsite personnel to promote and enhance sustainability manufacturing and living practices
• Staying updated on emerging sustainability technologies and identifying opportunities to incorporate them into the site's operations.
• Generate and report out best practices conducted at the site to share across the organization
• Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, Sustainability, environmental compliance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability frameworks
• Knowledge of Scope 1,2, and 3 Emissions and carbon emission reduction strategy. Life Cycle Assessment is a plus
• Gain knowledge and understanding of improvements that could be made from a facilities and manufacturing perspective
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and project management
• Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the business
• Leadership abilities to influence decision-making and drive change within the organization
• Ability to think strategically and identify innovative solutions
