We are seeking an Environment Advisor to support our QTMP Project. Reporting to the Environment & Sustainability Lead on a day-to-day basis, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of the QTMP Manufacturing Project ensuring contractors comply with environmental legislative, client and Downer’s requirements. You will be based on site at Torbanlea- QLD working with a dynamic team.
This position would suit an Environmental Advisor with a demonstrated ability in the day-to-day management of on-site environmental aspects within a greenfield civil construction environment. Some experience in major infrastructure projects will be highly sought after. This role is a 7-month full time Max-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee contractor environmental performance and compliance. Collaborate with the project team to promote positive environmental outcomes and relationships. Communicate project environmental requirements to site teams and contractors. Review, update, and monitor compliance with environmental management plans. Ensure adherence to relevant statutory approvals and legislative requirements. Conduct risk management and hazard identification processes. Perform environmental inspections, review incident investigations and produce environmental bulletins and alerts Conduct audits and follow up on resulting actions.About You:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences or equivalent. Experience in construction environmental management preferred. Knowledge of erosion & sediment control Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems and relevant Environmental Legislation. Well-developed verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills including consultative communications skills. Report writing and data analysis skills and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.Why Join Us?
