We are looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Assistant for the Environment Health and Safety department at Sartorius. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting implementation of environmental, employee health and safety regulations and legislations (HSE law, ISO 45001, ISO14000 etc.) and ensure all necessary policies are in place and keep a high standard in all fields of environmental protection and company health and safety.
You will be working closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Business Partner, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.
This position is available full time and based on site in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.
Grow with us – Your Responsibilities
On a daily basis you will support the development and implementation of policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments
Contribute to the development of the overall company health, safety and environmental strategy
Support with the investigation of accidents, incidents and sources of risk for environmental problems and liaise with relevant employees to identify causes of accidents/risks and prevent their recurrence
Provide advice and training on safety protocols and environmental protection and help conduct audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to environmental and employee health and safety
Assist in implementing policies and practices to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions that negatively impact employee health, safety or environmental concerns
Build close relationships with all internal stakeholders regarding health, safety and environmental topics and performance. Engage with external stakeholders if required.
Assist in the development and implementation of ISO 14001
Support the HSE Business Partner with day-to-day tasks
What will convince us
Administrative experience of health and safety tasks and duties or as in a supportive capacity, looking to build on their experience within a manufacturing/production environment (further training will be provided)
NEBOSH National Certificate or IOSH Certificate would be beneficial
Strong communication skills, open and friendly manner
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Analytical approach
Strong organizational skills, to be able to juggle multiple processes and priorities
Project management skills
Ability to influence others to find a common solution for health and safety issues by explanation of facts, policies and practices
