Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Chilton Medical Center.  Required hours are 3:00PM-11:00PM, including alternating weekends.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

General cleaning - 7 step cleaning procedure in assigned areas: high/low dusting, floor dusting, damp dusting and spot clean, trash removal, bathroom cleaning, damp mopping, vacuum carpets, damp mop or vacuum baseboards.

Inspection of completed area: Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc. Follow all prescribed State, Federal, JCAHO, Hospital and department standards. Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids. Ability to provide a clean/safe environment for patients/visitors/team members. Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner. Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift. Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials. Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area. Reports any repairs to maintenance. Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

HS Diploma or GED equivalent required or will obtain within 2 years of employment. To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs. Must be able to be on your feet for an extended period of time. Great Customer service/people skills a must.

Relevant Experience:

Previous environmental aide/housekeeping experience in a healthcare/hospital environment preferred.
