Description:
The Environmental Compliance Specialist will support Air Quality (40%), RCRA (40%), and Water Quality (20%) compliance at a DOE facility. This full-time position requires expertise in environmental management, compliance, and technical analysis, with a focus on supporting various environmental programs to maintain and improve compliance standards.
Air Quality Support (40%)
Assist with new refrigerant management requirements and the establishment of a fugitive emissions management program. Provide support for stationary source permitting. Conduct QA/QC for tracking documents and deliverables. Perform self-assessments to identify areas of risk and opportunities for improvement. Conduct compliance assistance site visits. Prepare and communicate permit agreements. Resolve known gaps in compliance and implement program improvements.RCRA Support (40%)
Provide support to the Hazardous Waste Permitting and Compliance Team (RCRA Team) in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, permit conditions, and SNL policies. Assist with the preparation, review, revision, and tracking of compliance documents for submittal to the State of New Mexico and stakeholders. Maintain records of hazardous waste management documentation. Provide technical guidance to waste generators and personnel at SNL waste management units. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Contribute to team success by managing priorities and ensuring attention to detail.Water Quality Support (20%)
Provide general assistance in maintaining water quality compliance, including data analysis, reporting, and technical support as needed.Qualifications:
Must have experience in air quality, hazardous waste management (RCRA), or environmental compliance. Strong technical, math, and chemistry knowledge. Excellent communication and people skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities. General knowledge of environmental regulations; willingness to learn and grow in areas of compliance.
