CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense ( DOD ) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. Position Summary This position serves as an interdisciplinary Environmental Compliance Specialist at Fort Walker in Bowling Green, Virginia. The position will support multiple compliance programs within the Environmental and Natural Resources Division ( ENRD ). The Compliance Specialist will primarily provide support for Water Quality Compliance, land rehabilitation projects, wetland delineation and conducting required regulatory inspections. This position will also assist with day-to-day spill response/reporting, and other multi-media compliance support. LOCATION : Fort Walker, Virginia Required Job Qualifications + The successful candidate must demonstrate U.S. employment eligibility; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. + Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Physical Sciences, Engineering or related degree and one year of experience supporting environmental compliance and natural resources programs. + Demonstrated ability to work independently on tasks in support of program, take initiative to communicate/resolve issues. + Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in-person and writing. + Ability and willingness to perform duties in adverse weather and site conditions, including temperature extremes and exposure to ticks and other insects.
