LOCATION: Sioux City, IA (or surrounding area)

This is an in-office position located at our Sioux City, IA office. In addition, the position does require 25-50% travel.

JOB SUMMARY: The Environmental Compliance Specialist II is responsible for participating in a wide range of projects. The Compliance Specialist II’s duties will include constant updating of environmental records for accuracy and updates, conduct inspections, and ensure that all project tasks are in compliance with all necessary regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Ensure the operating procedure management tasks are recorded and standardized.

Participate in site visits which will include field sampling, data collection, field equipment operation, and other field activities associated with environmental projects.

Follow accordance with project timeline to ensure tasks are completed timely.

Works independently on projects ranging from small to medium and assists senior staff on larger projects.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s and Eocene Environmental Group's culture of safety and employee ownership.

Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.

Position requires 25-50% travel throughout the Midwest.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or similar field. In the absence of a degree, equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.

2-5 years’ experience in the environmental field.

Iowa Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor Certification

Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Familiarity with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).

Experience with hazardous material and hazardous waste management.

Familiarity with Clean Air Act (CAA) and associated permitting in attainment regions.

Familiarity with Clean Water Act (CWA) and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting.

Familiarity with Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) regulations

Experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMSs).

Experience with environmental audit protocol.

Iowa Licensed Asbestos Inspector

Iowa Licensed Radon Measurement Specialist

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQIUREMENTS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to15 pounds, on occasion.

Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions in outdoor environments.
