Role description:
Arcadis is looking for an Environmental Consultant specialized in subsoil remediation for our Environmental Department in Spain.
This position will suit a highly motivated Environmental Consultant to consolidate their career within the leading global Design & Consultancy firm for natural and built assets; joining a successful team with exceptional Multinational clients. The successful candidate will have the ability and ambition to play an important role in Arcadis´s Iberian team for Site Evaluation and Remediation (SER) and Environmental Construction Services (ECS) in Spain and Portugal.
Role accountabilities: Fieldwork such as: Installation, operation and monitoring of remediation systems, Soil and groundwater sampling, Performance of Pilot treatability tests Supervision of drilling execution and monitoring/remediation well installation, and Other related tasks according to work plans and Standard Operating Procedures for site investigation and remediation projects throughout Spain & Portugal. Office tasks, such as: Conceptual Design of Remedial Approaches, Planning and Coordination of fieldwork, Management of subcontractor companies (i.e., remediation contractors, treatability laboratories, etc.) Technical data management, assessment and interpretation Reporting of investigation and remediation results. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Engineering (chemical; mechanical,) Geology or other environmental related studies (Chemistry, Geology, Geological Engineer, Mining Engineer, etc.); +4 years of experience with soil and groundwater contamination projects; Specific qualification in remediation of Soil and GW (preferably in-situ treatments) will be highly valued, High commitment with projects delivery, Valid driver’s licence Language skills: Good level of English and Portuguese Other skills that will be positively considered will be: Knowledge on ISO 17020 norm Basic Training in occupational Health & safety (60 h official training; recurso preventivo), Other technical skills: GIS software tools, databases and statistical data management, Quantitative Risk Assessment, Team worker, proactive, problem-solving and communication skills, and attention to detail and quality; Commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols; Why Become an Arcadian?
