The Environmental Coordinator is an Mid-level EH&S position with 3 to 5 years of experience. The Environmental Coordinator will be part of the Environmental Compliance team and will report to a Environmental Manager or Environmental Director. Provide environmental compliance support and sustainability tracking including technical assistance to project teams. The Environmental Coordinator shall be an excellent role model for Skanska and subcontractor personnel. Support project teams in identifying and providing solutions for construction environmental compliance and environmental hazards. The Environmental Coordinator must be a flexible and adaptable team player, have strong communication and client service skills.

 

What You'll Do:

Engage in the deployment and execution of the environmental commitments with project operations.Assist in or conduct project orientations.Conduct environmental compliance inspections.Assist in environmental incident investigations and monthly reporting.Supporting role in implementation of emergency plan maintenance and support, maintenance of subcontractor Toolbox Talks, and attendance and support of project meetings.Assist project teams in determining and/or maintaining compliance with all Environmental standards.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position. We're Looking For:

Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Environmental Studies or closely related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.Preferred Certifications: Certified Erosion Control Lead (CESL), Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), 40 Hour Hazwoper training and current 8-Hour RefresherAbility to coordinate TESC and Environmental ConsultantsExperience: Understanding WSDOT Specifications, Department of Ecology Section 402 Permits and environmental commitmentsExperience: Provide environmental trainings and orientations to project teamsExperience: Collecting field samples of stormwater for pH and turbidityExperience: Leading meetings and speaking to clientsExperience: At least 2 years of recent experience in mitigation monitoring services on large and complex heavy civil or infrastructure construction projects, port, or marine related experience.General understanding of environmental issues related to cultural resources, hazards, land use, and noise.Experience with hazardous materials and soil and groundwater contamination. Experience with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and storm water Best Management Practices (BMPs). Ability to understand and interpret construction documents and permit requirements (plans, specifications, schedules, and regulatory permits, and the like).
