Environmental/Energy Manager

Overview The Environmental/Energy Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with both U.S. Navy Environmental policies and Polish environmental and energy regulations to support operations at NSF Redzikowo U.S Naval Base in Poland. The ideal candidate will have experience in Environmental Management Systems (EMS), energy conservation programs, regulatory compliance and sustainability initiatives. The role requires knowledge of Polish environmental laws, EU regulations, and U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) environmental policies. Responsibilities Implement & monitor environmental policies, strategies, and programs in accordance with polish, EU, U.S. Navy, and federal environmental regulations Ensure contractor operations comply with the Environmental Management System (EMS), Installation Energy Plan, and sustainability requirements Conduct environmental impact assessments, risk evaluations, and sustainability audits. Develop and oversee waste reduction, water conservation, pollution control, and hazardous materials management programs. Ensure compliance with Polish and EU regulations regarding waste disposal, air and water quality, hazardous materials handling, and emissions control. Liaise with U.S. military environmental officers, Polish regulatory agencies, and subcontractors to maintain compliance. Lead energy efficiency initiatives, monitoring and optimizing energy consumption in base operations. Identify and implement renewable energy solutions and conservation strategies to align with sustainability goals. Ensure compliance with energy and water reduction mandates from both Polish and U.S. military authorities. Qualifications Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High school diploma Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental compliance, energy conservation, or sustainability programs. Experience: Knowledge of Polish and EU environmental regulations affecting industrial and military-related projects Familiarity with U.S. Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Environmental Compliance Programs. Strong understanding of U.S. DoD, U.S. Navy, and NATO environmental policies. Experience in hazardous material management, waste reduction emissions control, and pollution prevention. Strong understanding of renewable energy strategies and alternative energy solutions Skills & Technology Used: Fluent in English Ability to communicate effectively with U.S. military officials, Polish environmental regulators, subcontractors, and base leadership.
