Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Entry Level Environmental Engineer for employment within our Environmental Remediation Practices group in the Sacramento, California office to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects.  We will consider candidates to sit out of our LA area offices as well (Long Beach, Orange, Westlake Village and downtown Los Angeles)  The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative team environment.

Tasks will include:

Conducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of subcontractors.Produce accurate and complete documentation of operation, inspections and complianceField document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure complianceTravel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or demonstrated equivalancy of experience and/or education.  US Citizenzship is required for this role 

Preferred Qualifications

HAZWOPER 40 Hr TrainingPrior experience in environmental field data collection including drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater, vapor sample collection, and/or remediation system operations, maintenance, and monitoring.Master’s Degree is a plus.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).Excellent oral and written communication skills.Coursework or experience providing knowledge relevant to waste management, environmental site assessments, environmental site investigation and characterization, and environmental remediation is preferredKnowledge of environmental sampling practices
