We are Clariant, a leading chemical company, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Engineer to join our Catalyst operations team. This role is crucial in ensuring our sites comply with environmental regulations and safety standards. Responsibilities
You will coordinate with the ESHA Manager to deliver on company expectations and top priorities. Support the Site Manager to ensure legal compliance and appropriate risk management at the sites. Ensure consistent application of group and local ESHA processes at the site. Monitor and evaluate the impact of regional environmental protection laws and regulations, and emerging issues on businesses and operations. Conduct routine environmental inspections and ensure monthly calculations are completed accurately and on time. Ensure applicable agency reports are submitted accurately and on time. Develop and implement environmental programs and procedures for the site, covering both employees and contractors. Provide expertise regarding environmental and technical permits and obtain required permits in a timely manner. You will support the ESHA Manager by participating as a member of the Local Environmental Management (LEM) team, also assisting in conducting incident response, review, root cause analysis, and required reporting. Implement site training programs aligned with Corporate ESHA Guidelines, Environmental, and Safety programs.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Environmental), Environmental Science, or a related field from an accredited university or comparable institution. Candidates with 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance or chemical manufacturing will also be considered. 1-3 years of experience in environmental compliance, chemical production, or a related field, along with relevant education (Highly desired). Knowledge of Environmental and Safety programs within the Chemical Industry (e.g., Title V) (Preferred). Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. It is essential that you be a Self-starter with keen attention to detail and the ability to uphold and meet deadlines.
