The Environmental Engineer is an ambassador for employee safety. They will ensure environmental compliance; identify and complete sustainability projects; and lead the plant's environmental improvement efforts. Working under the direction of the EHS Manager, this position ensures company methods and procedures for communicating environmental, health & safety matters to employees are effective, and employee concerns and suggestions receive prompt responses from leadership.
The person in this role will play a critical role in achieving company Energy and Emissions Objectives (2030 Goals); assist with the development and implementation of the facility's environmental program; and manage assigned environmental and sustainability projects. The Environmental Engineer will manage the site's environmental permits; Title V, ISO 14001 program, and audits as necessary.
In this role, primary work responsibilities will include:
Daily monitoring, collecting, and reporting to ensure environmental compliance. Interacting with employees and collaborating across teams to communicate applicable policies & procedures related to Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives. Support the EHS Manager through increasing knowledge & skills with Health & Safety to improve safety and environmental outcomes. Assist with educating and developing training initiatives related to EHS and its impact. Conducting root-cause analysis and finding corrective & preventive actions
