Job Title: Environmental Engineer

Job Description

Local engineering firm seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer who will be responsible for evaluating and interpreting environmental data, performing engineering and scientific analysis and evaluation, and preparing reports and designs for projects. The role involves collaborating with engineers and requires a professional engineering license in WA or the ability to obtain it within the first year of employment.

ResponsibilitiesConduct environmental assessment and site characterization.Perform fieldwork and oversee exploration projects, environmental drilling, sampling, phase 1 site assessments, and monitoring.Conduct technical analysis including evaluation of analytical results, hazard evaluation, and remedial alternatives.Prepare design documents and supporting deliverables, including engineering calculations, design drawings, specifications, and engineers’ estimates.Lead the generation of technical reports, including completion of routine reports, figures, tables, etc.Ensure work performed is consistent with project plans and specifications.Manage UST removal and remediation for public and private clients.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering or related field.At least 4 years of experience in environmental engineering or a similar field.Professional Engineering (PE) License or the ability to obtain within a year.Experience in soil sampling and groundwater.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in AutoCAD and design software.Knowledge of environmental compliance and environmental science.Experience in construction, engineering, civil, land development, remediation, soil sampling, geology, and environmental monitoring.Familiarity with drainage systems.Work Environment

This position is based in Spokane Valley, WA, with projects typically within a 300-mile radius of the Spokane area. The work schedule is an 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, with overtime and weekends as needed. The firm has operated in the Inland NW for over 50 years, specializing in geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, exploratory drilling, laboratory analysis, construction material testing, and special inspection services. Benefits include 100% coverage of premiums for the employee and 50% for dependents, 401k matching up to 4%, a 1% profit-sharing bonus annually, dental insurance, employee assistance program, health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $55.00/hr.
