Job Description

AECOM is looking for a  Environnemental Engineer or Geoscientist for its Markham or Kitchener locations in Ontario. The role will be a combination of project management and technical work delivery, though the work can/may vary based on the applicant’s experience and career aspirations. This is a Full-time role.

This position is ideally suited to an intermediate environmental engineer or geoscientist with aspirations to develop both their technical and project management strengths. This is a project management position on small/medium projects ($50k - $250k budget) as well as deputy project management on larger multidisciplinary project in environmental investigations/remediation area.

Additionally, there are opportunities for candidates who would like to continue to build their technical background to have access to training and careers opportunities if of interest.

Technical work may include:

Development of technical solutions.Preparation, coordination and participation in field programs to collect and analyze outstanding data gaps for design advancement (both office and field duties, though this position is intended to primarily be an office-based role).Preparation of documentation for design projects: technical letters, memorandums, reports, drawing packages, and detailed design packages.Preparing project specifications, contract documents, construction packages, and cost estimates.

Project management responsibilities may include:

Technical and quality coordinationProposal and scope change preparationScope and budget trackingCollaborating and coordinate work with peers from the environment business, peers from other engineering disciplines, clients, contractors, and sub-consultants.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental etc.).4+ years of related experience within civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering field.Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

P.Eng registered6+ years of technical experience within environmental or civil engineeringProposal writing, job scoping, project plansWorking in a team setting to meet timelines and quality management.Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent knowledge of Excel and Word
