Your Role:
The Environmental Engineering Project Manager will play a key role in planning and design projects primarily in Hampton Roads. The individual will participate in municipal planning, land development, stormwater, and water resources project design developments, ensuring key deadlines are met, and that project team members and design disciplines work together collaboratively and effectively. Major duties/responsibilities of the position include:
• Support municipal and federal projects, water quality modeling, stormwater master planning, and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality permitting.
• Assist with the preparation of feasibility studies, design plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical documents, and contracts.
• Assist with calculation packages required for drainage and stormwater management systems and TMDL compliance.
• Assist the Program Manager in multi-disciplined projects in the preparation of construction drawings, details, specifications, calculations, and engineers estimate of probable construction costs.
• Participate in the professional community and build the Tetra Tech brand.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related engineering discipline. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 7-12 years of progressive experience in planning, land development, and water resources design projects.
• Recent experience with the design of sustainable green infrastructure, including subsurface storage and infiltration, bioretention basins, bioswales, green streets, and constructed wetlands.
• Modeling and design of stormwater management for municipalities and other entities in Virginia is required.
• Ability to navigate the Virginia DEQ approval process for both ESC and Stormwater. Certification as a DEQ plan reviewer is preferred.
• Ability to design using AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce grading plans, profiles, cut-fill volumes, surfaces, pipe networks, etc.
• Registered PE in the state of Virginia (or the ability to obtain within 3 months) is required.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• A valid driver’s license in accordance with Tetra Tech’s Vehicle Safety Policy.
• Due to contractual requirements, must be a US Citizen
