Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join the team. This role is based at the Mississauga, ON site and includes 15-30% travel.
**What you’ll do:**
Under the direction of the Canadian Satellite Manager and as a member of the Satellite Leadership team, you will work closely with stakeholders to drive the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) activities, and deploy strategies that ensure a culture of EH&S compliance and continuous improvement for the Satellite Operations, and CPDI Carlingview, ON location. The Satellite Operations includes six plants (Dartmouth, NS; Lachine, QC; Mississauga, ON; Winnipeg, MB; Calgary, AB and Delta, BC).
**Essential Functions Include:**
+ **Continuous Improvement** – Promote and collaborate with team members to identify new objectives, areas of improvement, activities and guidelines required to effectively drive reduction in environmental, health and safety (EHS) risks and hazards. Drive the continuous improvement of all EH&S related activities by facilitating effective preventative/corrective action.
+ **Compliance and Conformance** – Ensure safe work practices and compliance with Satellite’s and CPDI’s EHS policies and procedures based on the fundamentals of Eaton’s Management System for the Environment, Safety, Security and Health (MESH), or that are required to comply with relevant legislation. Disseminate and lead the implementation of applicable MESH requirements, and programs to meet legal/regulatory requirements. Act as the EH&S Representative for all end/3rd party certifications.
+ **Training** – Provide ongoing training, at all levels, of EH&S systems, policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
+ **Program Administration** – Ensure the integrity of all EH&S documentation. Manage the internal assessment program for all EH&S systems, and collect, analyze and publish applicable data. Maintain Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and metrics. Monitor and administer Early and Safe Return to Work Programs for all occupational illnesses/injuries.
+ **Capital Projects** – Become actively involved in the planning and installation of new equipment, and management of changes, identifying hazards and solutions to alleviate risk.
**What will make you successful?**
The ideal candidate should excel in multi-tasking and adapting to fast-paced, changing environments. You must demonstrate strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in facilitating teams across remote geographies and working with all organizational levels is essential. Additionally, knowledge of LEAN manufacturing processes and Six Sigma tools will be key, along with effective time, project management capabilities and the ability to manage conflict and influence change across the organization. We are looking for candidates who are diverse in their backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and who can bring fresh and innovative ideas to our team.
**Qualifications:**
**Required (Basic) Qualifications:**
+ College diploma or University degree from an accredited institution
+ Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in an operations or industrial setting
+ No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 80km of Mississauga, ON to be considered.
+ Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future.
+ Must be able to travel 15% to 30% across various locations with exposure to a wide variety of working environments and conditions while at Eaton manufacturing sites, offices settings and customer sites.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation
+ French fluency (verbal and written)
