Your Role
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join us as the US Field Services Environmental Health, Safety Engineer reporting to Environmental Health and Safety Site Head. You will oversee and ensure comprehensive safety measures for all US Field Service personnel reporting from our Burlington, MA facility. The Environmental Health, Safety Engineer responsibilities will include coordinating, developing, and implementing safety procedures and relevant training initiatives aligned with EMD Millipore Sites. Also organize and participate in safety audits and inspections, serve as the safety representative to the EH&S Site Head and escalate any identified hazardous situations. In the event of accidents or safety incidents, you will lead investigations and establish corrective action plans, and spearhead the deployment of environmental plans and programs. Specific Responsibilities Include:
Responsible for day-to-day support and guidance of Field Service personnel to ensure the proper EHS regulations and procedures are adhered to at Field Service sitesProvide immediate direct support to Field Service employees that work at customer sitesLead and/or participate in incident investigations and ensure appropriate root causes are identified and corrective actions are developed / implementedInterface with other Millipore EHS professionals to cross validate best practices and standardize processesAssist Field Service personnel in obtaining clearance to access customer sites as requiredPromote a positive safety culture and educate the Field Service population on specific risks at their dedicated customer sitesDevelop and provide “hands on” risk assessment and environmental health and safety training to Field Service population as necessaryWork with site management to reduce the number of injuries and incidentsProvide safety engineering support to site management to ensure compliance with environmental, occupational hygiene and safety regulatory requirements. Develop and implement programs as requiredIdentify risk reduction methods and work with site management in implementing those methodsRegularly collaborate with site management, supervision and personnel on EHS related mattersPrepare EHS compliance related reports and correspondence, both internally and externallyWork with Occupational Health and Safety to develop robust return to work program for all employeesIdentify, investigate risks, and recommend solutionsDevelop a culture of reporting accidents and near missesIdentify the proper safety tools and PPE required to work safely and coordinate with the customer health and safety programsPerform safety audits and inspections regularlyCoordinate emergency response training with employees at each siteCollect and report on Environmental Health and Safety data as required by EHS Site ManagementTravel to various customers sites
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diplomas or GED 10+ years hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other EHS discipline 1+ years EHS experience working in a laboratory and/or industrial setting1+ years of leadership and project management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in performing root cause analysis and risk assessmentsSafety certifications and/or engineering workProficient in communicating in verbal and written Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to address multiple tasks proficiently and in a timely mannerProficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suites
