Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Professional (EHS Engineer 2/3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Apopka, Florida facility.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

The primary role of this position will be to lead environmental, health, and safety (EHS) efforts across the Apopka location. Responsibilities will include:

Assist in review and interpretation of existing and proposed EHS regulations to determine applicability and impact on operations. 

Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet environmental requirements.

Partner with business leaders to continuously improve the culture, awareness and accountability in support of EHS programs.

Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of EHS programs to ensure compliance, injury prevention and risk mitigation.

Support the site’s environmental programs (hazardous waste, storm water, wastewater, and air) and environmental sustainability initiatives.

Complete audits, inspections, and assist with pollution prevention activities.

Assist during accident/incident investigations to help determine root cause and corrective actions

Interface with internal and external customers including regulatory representatives, senior management, EHS Committee, and the Emergency Response and Crisis Management teams.

Implement EHS management systems, sector-level programs and associated documentation to proactively eliminate or reduce workplace hazards and compliance risk. 

Additional roles and responsibilities may include:

Provide timely and accurate submission of necessary reports to the company and regulatory agencies.

Write and update EHS plans and procedures.

Assist with applications for new permits and renewals. 

Prepare and coordinate EHS training and conduct instructor-led EHS training. 

Assist with Industrial Hygiene Sampling, new chemical & equipment evaluation, and ergonomics assessments.

Travel and/or provide support to field sites and offices as needed.

This position can be filled at a Level 3 or 4.

Onsite shift hours (9:00 am - 6:00 pm) OR (10:00 am - 7:00 pm)

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

Bachelor’s (BA or BS) degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of experience; or a Master's degree (MS) in the same disciplines with related experience, or a High school diploma and 6 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance

(U.S. Citizenship required). 

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

Bachelor’s (BA or BS) degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree in the same disciplines with 3 years of experience; or a High school diploma and 9 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance

(U.S. Citizenship required). 

Salary Range: $70,200.00 - $105,400.00Salary Range 2: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
