Position Overview:
As part of the talented team, this position works closely with EHS Manager and employees at all levels to further develop the facilities Environmental Systems. This position is responsible for assisting Health and Safety (H&S) Systems for the New York Mills and Willmar facilities.

Promote a proactive EH&S System.Collect water samples from raw, semi-processed, or processed water, industrial wastewater, or water from other sources.Perform project monitoring and reporting.Install and maintain data collection instrumentation.Conduct environmental tests related to compliance or pollution control activity.Support general safety functions.Perform basic calculations and computer data entry.Prepare and maintain necessary environmental reports and records as required.Set up equipment or stations to monitor and collect pollutants from sites, such as smoke stacks, manufacturing plants, or mechanical equipment.Strong leadership and influencing skills to drive continuous safety improvementConducts inspections and audits; investigates incidents and injuries and drive accountability to resolve issuesEnsure implementation of corrective actions, H&S policies, and BMPsConducts Environmental training for facility personnel. Oversee monitoring activities, facilitate the Employee Safety Committee meetings.Prepares and maintains various Environmental documentation and reporting deadlines, communicates with governmental agencies.Monitors federal, state and municipal regulatory changes to ensure compliance. Review accident reports and provide information that will aid in reducing accidents and improving safetyCommunicate all relevant Environmental information to company and facility management, as well as all facility employees.Assist EHS Manager in maintaining the online SDS systemDiversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Applied Science, Safety and Health, Environmental Management or 5+ years of equivalent experience requiredKnowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, CERCLA, SARA, NPDES, State and local regulationsStrong analytical aptitude is required to gather and summarize data for reports and find solutions to various EH&S issues.Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated record of strong leadership and willing to challenge the status quoExperience in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferredMust have strong verbal and written communication skills;Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt as necessaryStrong analytical aptitude is required to gather and summarize data for reports and find solutions to various EH&S issues.Proficient in MicrosoftCompliance software experience preferred.Certified, or able to be certified, in CPR and first aid.Working Conditions:
